Cleaning checklist
St. Pete’s Maids’ standard cleaning checklist
Bathroom
- Dust all surfaces including window sills, ceiling fans, light fixtures, kitchen chairs, vents, etc
- Dust/ remove any cobwebs
- Wipe Down towel racks and toilet roll
- Wipe down wood cabinets on all sides
- Clean light switches and electrical outlets (careful)
- Clean bathroom Mirrors with a mirror/window cleaner
- Clean bathroom sinks
- Thoroughly clean cracks where sinks meet the wall (as best as possible)
- Clean bathtub and/ or shower.
- Wipe down semi-gloss walls and/or tiles with all-purpose cleaner
- Clean and shine chrome spouts, handles, shower head, etc
- Clean Creases where the shower or tub meets the bathroom floor
- Wipe tubs and showers dry after cleaning
- Clean countertops
- Scrub inside of toilet with bowl cleaner and brush
- Wipe sides of the toilet and seat area
- Wipe around the base of the toilet where it meets the floor
- Wipe behind toilet area to include all crevices on the floor
- Vacuum bathroom mat (or shake debris/ dust off if unable to vacuum)
- Move any plants or other things on the floor to clean
- Sweep bathroom floor including behind the toilet (w/ bathroom mat removed)
- Mop floor including behind the toilet (w/ mat or rug removed)
- Clean cracks where the floor tiles meet the wall and meet the bathtub or shower
- Empty and clean Trash Can and replace trash can bag
- Replace items in their proper place (including mat/ rug)
- Fold toilet paper into a triangle
- Fold any hand towels or bath towels into thirds
Kitchen
- Place all dirty dishes found throughout the house in the kitchen sink (rinse off)
- Dust all surfaces including window sills, ceiling fans, light fixtures, kitchen chairs, vents, etc
- Dust/ remove any cobwebs
- Wipe down/ clean all horizontal surfaces
- Wipe down food stains/ grime on outside kitchen cabinets
- Clean windows (not the outside of the window facing the outdoors)
- Clean Kitchen sinks thoroughly (remove any dirty dishes to clean sink underneath. Once sink is cleaned, place dirty dishes back in the sink)
- Clean and shine chrome spouts and handles
- Thoroughly clean cracks where sinks meet the wall
- Clean countertops
- Wipe down wood cabinets on all sides
- Clean light switches and electrical outlets (careful)
- Remove burners and spray stove with degreaser/ all-purpose cleaner
- Clean Stove tops and console area
- Wipe down the outside of the oven door and oven handles
- Remove items on top of the microwave and clean all sides of the microwave, including inside the microwave.
- Wipe down toaster, coffee pot, and other small countertop appliances
- Remove items from top of fridge and wipe down top, front and sides of fridge
- If stainless steel appliances are present, wipe down appliances with stainless steel cleaner, removing all lines and smudges as best as possible
- Vacuum kitchen mat/ rug
- Sweep/ vacuum kitchen floor (without rug/ mat)
- Mop floor (without rug/ mat)
- Empty and clean Trash Can and replace trash bag
- Replace items in their proper place (including rug/ mat)
- Fold any hand towels into thirds. Nicely fold dish cleaning rags.
Living room, hallways, entryway
- Dust all surfaces thoroughly — window sills, furniture, etc.
- Dust ceiling fans, lights, switches, reels, top of TV, vents, etc
- Cobweb Removal: walk through room removing cobwebs in corners, lights, ceiling, baseboards and behind furniture (as best as possible without moving furniture).
- Wipe down all horizontal surfaces with all-purpose cleaner.
- Clean light switches and electrical outlets (careful)
- Clean Windows. (not the outside of the windows facing the outdoors)
- Sweep and/or Vacuum all stairs, carpets, and floors. Use special attachments for floors and rugs.
- Empty and clean Trash Can and replace trash bag — if present.
- Replace items in their proper place
- Fold any blankets
Other services not offered
- Wet wiping light bulbs: time and risk of breakage is too high.
- Putting away dishes, because we don’t want to stack things in a way that you would not (and to reduce risk of breakage).
- Cleaning exterior windows or very high windows
- Cleaning that requires climbing on ladders
- Cleaning exterior windows or very high windows
- Mold removal
- Deep stain removal
- Insect and pest removal
- Cleaning pet messes, litter boxes, picking up animal feces, etc.
- Cleaning blinds
- Items that require heavy lifting (we do not move heavy furniture in order to clean behind or under it)
Deep clean add-on
- Clean/ wipe baseboards in EVERY room including hallways
- Vacuum all corners and creases where wall meets the carpet
- Clean/ wipe down both side of all doors
- Spot clean all walls throughout the house (where food stains, grime, etc is found, wipe/ clean the wall with all-purpose cleaner)
- Clean and vacuum out all window tracks
Bedrooms
- If there is laundry on the floor, move into a corner of the room or put in dirty clothes basket/ hamper
- Dust all surfaces thoroughly — window sills and furniture.
- Dust ceiling fans, lights, switches, reels, vents, etc.
- Cobweb Removal: walk through room removing cobwebs in corners, lights, ceiling, baseboards and behind furniture (as best as possible without moving furniture).
- Wipe down all horizontal surfaces with all-purpose cleaner.
- Clean light switches and electrical outlets (careful)
- Clean Windows. (not the outside of the windows facing the outdoors)
- Clean any mirrors
- Vacuum all stairs, carpets, and floors. Use special attachments for floors and rugs.
- Empty and clean Trash Can and replace trash bag — if present.
- Make bed, if not made
- Replace items in their proper place
- Fold any blankets
Glass doors (& windows on entry doors)
- Clean with glass cleaner the interior and exterior of any glass door (front door, back door, sliding door leading to 3 seasons room, etc) or window(s) on any entry door.
Move in/out add-on
- Clean inside kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers
- Clean/ wipe baseboards in EVERY room including hallways
- Vacuum all corners and creases where wall meets the carpet
- Vacuum empty shelves and drawers
- Clean closets including dusting, wiping down surfaces, vacuuming, etc
- Clean/ wipe down both side of all doors
- Spot clean all walls throughout the house (where food stains, grime, etc is found, wipe/ clean the wall with all-purpose cleaner)
- Clean and vacuum out all window tracks
