CASA’s model for making a difference
CASA/GAL volunteers advocate on the behalf of children who are before the court because they have experienced abuse or neglect. Most of the children they serve are in foster care. They stay with each case until it is closed and the child is in a safe, permanent home and has the opportunity to thrive. Through their best-interest advocacy, their programs and volunteers make a life-changing difference for the nation’s most vulnerable children.
Why we support foster care efforts
Alexis Craig, the founder of St. Pete’s Maids grew up with a grandma who ran a foster and adoption agency, plus has three adopted uncles from the foster care system. In 2016, Alexis became a foster parent and has since adopted two kids and foster 11 children. CASA is St. Pete’s Maids Charity of Choice and helping foster kids is our brand’s signature cause.
